Metro Boomin
American record producer, DJ and businessman Metro Boomin was born Leland Tyler Wayne on September 16, 1993 in St. Louis, Missouri. He rose to prominence in the music industry as a producer, shaping the sound of contemporary hip-hop and rap. Interested in the music scene at a young age, he moved to Atlanta in 2011 to attend Morehouse College. Initially interested in rapping, he found his niche making beats and producing hip-hop. Working with Atlanta musicians such as Gucci Mane and Future, Metro Boomin quickly became a sought-after producer, known for his signature dark and atmospheric beats. His first mixtape "19 & Boomin" was dropped in May 2013 featuring various artists. A frequent collaborator with rapper Future, Metro Boomin won Producer of the Year at the BET Hip Hop Awards in 2016 for Future's mixtape "Purple Reign". He worked with dozens of popular rap and R&B artists from The Weeknd and Kodak Black to Kanye West and Lil Uzi Vert. Beyond his production skills, Metro Boomin has also demonstrated his songwriting talents, contributing to hit singles like "Bad and Boujee" (2016) by Migos and "Mask Off" (2017) by Future. Metro Boomin also ventured into the world of DJing, performing at major music festivals and headlining his own shows.
