Obsession (2025) 97% EDIT “The real story here, however, is [Inde] Navarrette, who delivers one of the most fearlessly committed comic-horror performances in recent memory.” – Boston Hassle Mar 21, 2026 Full Review Sugar Rot (2024) EDIT “This is a punk film through and through.” – Boston Hassle Mar 20, 2026 Full Review Buffet Infinity (2025) EDIT “The magic lies in how the cosmic horror rams up against Vaudevillian silly-name comedy, frequently within the same 30-second spot.” – Boston Hassle Mar 20, 2026 Full Review undertone (2025) 73% EDIT “Undertone is one of those films that’s just good enough that it’s frustrating that it’s not better.” – Boston Hassle Mar 13, 2026 Full Review The Ugly Stepsister (2025) 96% 3/4 EDIT “"The Ugly Stepsister" at heart creates a savage satire of the impossible beauty standards imposed upon young women.” – Cambridge Day Mar 11, 2026 Full Review Hoppers (2026) 93% 3/4 EDIT “It’s a more inventive use of the "Avatar" premise than anything James Cameron’s come up with, and far cuter.” – Cambridge Day Mar 11, 2026 Full Review THE BRIDE! (2026) 57% EDIT “Too much of it falls flat, and virtually none of it hangs together as a cohesive whole. Yet I also wouldn’t dream of dissuading someone to see it.” – Boston Hassle Mar 7, 2026 Full Review The Love That Remains (2025) 94% 3.5/4 EDIT “There is a disarmingly playful sense of humor at work, which manifests in both uncomfortably intimate moments [...] and flamboyant flights of fancy.” – Cambridge Day Feb 20, 2026 Full Review EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert (2025) 97% EDIT “Thankfully, the performance itself is truly remarkable— that is, if "performance" is the right word for it.” – Boston Hassle Feb 20, 2026 Full Review Wuthering Heights (2026) 57% 3/4 EDIT “Where "Saltburn" is a dumb movie posing as smart satire, "Heights" makes no bones about its essential lunkheadedness, and, paradoxically, is far smarter for it.” – Cambridge Day Feb 13, 2026 Full Review Magellan (2025) 88% 3.5/4 EDIT “Diaz captures the lush scenery with a painterly eye, slaughter in the foreground, natural beauty behind it.” – Cambridge Day Feb 8, 2026 Full Review Whistle (2025) 63% EDIT “Unfortunately, the deaths here lack the ghoulish invention of the [Final] Destination films.” – Boston Hassle Feb 6, 2026 Full Review Shelter (2026) 65% 2.5/4 EDIT “"Shelter" delivers a workmanlike ass-kicking, too muted to hurt. In other words, it’s a Jason Statham movie.” – Cambridge Day Jan 30, 2026 Full Review Send Help (2026) 93% EDIT “This is Raimi at his most joyously nasty, a blackly comic morality play owing more to EC Comics than Marvel.” – Boston Hassle Jan 30, 2026 Full Review Mercy (2026) 25% 1.5/4 EDIT “This may be the first pro-dystopian science fiction film.” – Cambridge Day Jan 26, 2026 Full Review The Testament of Ann Lee (2025) 86% 3.5/4 EDIT “"Ann Lee" is an extravagant, frequently sensuous film about austerity and celibacy, a story of faith and fervor told from a secular point of view. The result, as strange as it is, is utterly entrancing” – Cambridge Day Jan 18, 2026 Full Review 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2026) 92% EDIT “The Bone Temple is everything a zombie sequel should be: raucous, funny, surprisingly smart, and bloody enough to make you avert your eyes into your popcorn.” – Boston Hassle Jan 16, 2026 Full Review OBEX (2025) 96% 3/4 EDIT “As absurd as it all is, we sense that Birney means every word of it.” – Cambridge Day Jan 15, 2026 Full Review Father Mother Sister Brother (2025) 82% EDIT “It’s not as audacious as some of the filmmaker’s most celebrated pieces, but it remains warm, funny, and altogether lovely. ” – Boston Hassle Jan 9, 2026 Full Review Marty Supreme (2025) 93% EDIT “There is an underlying humanity to Marty Supreme, something that runs deeper than Gems’ film-noir-on-speed nihilism.” – Boston Hassle Dec 24, 2025 Full Review Death Race 2000 (1975) 80% EDIT “If Death Race 2000 is trash, then it’s really great trash.” – Boston Hassle Dec 19, 2025 Full Review The Secret Agent (2025) 98% EDIT “It’s one of the best films of the year, tackling deadly serious subject matter with a wry playfulness which will keep you off balance from its first scene to its last.” – Boston Hassle Dec 17, 2025 Full Review Reflection in a Dead Diamond (2025) 84% EDIT “Reflection in a Dead Diamond is as gleefully hyperbolic as its title, but it is made with more craft and artistry than a dozen 007 epics.” – Boston Hassle Dec 5, 2025 Full Review Jay Kelly (2025) 75% 3/4 EDIT “Even if "Jay Kelly" is an exercise in self-indulgence, it is exceptionally pleasurable and well-crafted self-indulgence, with a playfulness that takes the edge off its maudlin overtones.” – Cambridge Day Nov 26, 2025 Full Review Rental Family (2025) 87% 2/4 EDIT “The film as a whole is suffocatingly saccharine, wringing every drop of pathos with a nonstop, maddeningly twinkly score.” – Cambridge Day Nov 20, 2025 Full Review
