It has a generic looking group of black-clad marines running endlessly down dark corridors with heavy metal guitars pounding away on the soundtrack . . . always a bad sign.

The movie turns an excellent videogame into a merely average monster action movie for the first hour, but with a few plot twists manages to rise above that mark a bit in the last act.
