The direction of both Karlsen and Zackrisson is impeccable, finely tuned to both the melodrama and the gothic sensibility of Nesbo’s writing. Go to Full Review

I did find myself laughing out loud at a couple of points during the finale of Detective Hole, but that was more at the show than with it, so rushed and preposterous is its denouement. Go to Full Review

Based on the fifth Harry Hole book, The Devil's Star, it's a bit drawn out, but it gets right what The Snowman got wrong. Go to Full Review

It offers the satisfying fiction that, however random the violence of the world can seem, there’s a baroque conspiracy behind everything, if only we can unmask the evildoers. Go to Full Review

The series is well-edited and photographed, has the pacing required for this type of production, and features music by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis...which lends personality and quality to a very well-chosen soundtrack. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Blanche W @Blanche414 3d Loved it! I watched it in Norwegian w English text. So good! See more Ivan F @Neogrey 3d It started as a good watch but not as strong as the tv series who made Joel Kinnaman famous - The Killing with Mireille Enos. Not going to spoilt it for everyone, but the last episode has the most unconvincing script in tbe history of tv. Really disappointed See more Victoria Grace D @RT45493933 Jul 21 One of the best crime shows I’ve watched in a while. The pacing is unsteady, taut at times and languid at others while maintaining the thread of suspense throughout. The soundtrack was well chosen and managed to set the moods without being cliquish (I’m looking at you, Cape Fear remake). The protagonist is so humanly flawed but brilliant and ultimately manages to conquer his demons. There were some graphic scenes though that I had to pause at times. This made me feel so many emotions - horror, despair, suspense, tenderness (it manages to squeeze in a realistic love aspect as well), amazement, relief. Looking forward to more shows like this (and reading Jo Nesbo’s novels). See more Avindu G @RT86379654 Jul 19 Writer Jo Nesbo has created a Norwegian classic with this series. It not only takes jabs at the traditional Hollywood hero tropes but challenges the supervillain crime city setups. Its cultural read on tough cop is a perception changer as the institutions are presented as non weaponized. Elements of betrayal, grief, guilt and psychopathy are very well orchestrated creating the perfect surrounding for Harry's challenging trek towards justice. The cast delivers visceral performances, drawing a clear line between factions and fulfilling each assignment with precision. Excellent filming and visual effects capture the societal ruin perfectly. Music is befitting every shift and flow of the journey. It's got almost all the favorite elements for crime thriller lovers and would be a series revisited in years to come as the story climaxes with a shocking finale. See more Mildred M @Milly871 Jun 23 I loved it, started slow and all over the place and picked up pace and ended up loving it. See more Hctor R @H0509 Jun 15 Una tortuga con asma y fracturada va más rápido que esto. No pido que te informen de todo en los primeros 5 minutos Pero durante 40 minutos no ocurre nada relevante para que te genere el más mínimo interés See more Read all reviews
