Blake- N @PBSAniDom 3d Dragonheart: Vengeance is a decent sequel that manages to keep the fantasy adventure spirit of the series alive, even with its smaller scale and direct-to-streaming feel. It may not reach the heights of the original film, but it still offers an enjoyable experience for fantasy fans. The dragon effects and medieval setting help create a fun atmosphere, and the movie does a respectable job balancing action, adventure, and emotional moments. The performances are solid enough to keep the story moving without feeling overly dull. I only watched it on Netflix, and it worked well as an easy fantasy movie to sit through. The pacing stays fairly consistent, and the film never becomes too complicated or overly serious. Overall, Dragonheart: Vengeance is a watchable sequel with decent entertainment value, even if it feels limited compared to bigger fantasy productions. I would rate it a 6/10 for its enjoyable atmosphere, creature effects, and simple adventure storytelling. This was definitely the much-needed return to form for the Dragonheart series after the god awful Dragonheart: Battle for the Heartfire. For this movie though, is the story perfect? No. Are the characters perfect? No. Are the villains perfect? No. BUT, does it tell us a revenge story without making it interesting? Absolutely not. This movie actually EXPANDS on the Dragonheart lore by giving us the first female dragon who can bond with humans, unlike the previous movie that didn't add ANYTHING to the world of Dragonheart. And, on top of that, Dragonheart: Vengance leaves us with an important message about always looking up in life. Personally, I thought Siveth, the female dragon in this, was an interesting character that you really want to know more about. And, I will say, her voice actress was spot-on. Helena Bonham Carter's Siveth may not be as compelling as Sean Connery's Draco, but she wasn't the worst thing in the world either. I donโ€™t understand why it only has half reviews but I do like it more than any other creature based movies. I havenโ€™t watched the other ones. But I would like to see more of these movies. 100 out of 10 See more corkball @RT87142816 10/09/2022 Given all the garbage that passes for movies these days, the latest Dragonheart installment isn't awful. Given the clearly limited budget, it looks pretty good, especially owing to its landscape settings. The plot is the standard hero's journey, and while it has been done far better, it has also been done far worse. The CGI is, let's say, good enough for what they are trying to do. The action and characters are decent, not great. My one pet peeve is they shoehorn in the characters a little too conveniently. The baddies all explain their plan in front of the kid, and then he manages to just 'pick up' allies to fight his battle almost without even trying.
