Aug 06, 2017With a haunting score and a disturbing plot, this film can be quite anguishing sometimes, especially in an infamous heterografting operation scene, working pretty well despite its flaws (like the police coming up with a stupid plan that makes no sense once you think about it).Carlos M Super Reviewer

Nov 12, 2015A clear classic in its own right -- unsettling, disquieting, poetic, horrifying, anguished, tragic. Yet it is done so unassumingly, so directly. That may bring in some of the alien, frightening element. There's so much here, conceptually and visually, it is eerily, darkly fascinating & compelling. And it works visually so well that it could work as a silent film. Tremendous body acting by Edith Scob. This film is unflinching, yet has the subtlety of true art. 4-4.5.Kyle M Super Reviewer

Sep 02, 2015Les Yeux Sans Visage was one of the greatest revivals of the German expressionist cinema. It is a tale of a surgeon father's guilt over his daughter's disfiguring accident who began kidnapping girls to transplant their faces to her. I adored the cinematography overall, it sends you a chill to your spine without any gore and the poetic justice served the film well.Sylvester K Super Reviewer

May 08, 2014One of the most underappreciated horror films of all time. It is creepy for today's age, let alone in the 1960s. It will leave you with unpleasant memories for all your days.John B Super Reviewer
