It’s so unique and original that saying it’s good or bad, feels like a waste of time. This is not a film to judge but to interpret, and perhaps count as your next nightmare fuel and cause. Go to Full Review

Rasheed G @RasheedKGreen Jan 7 Rarely have I seen a film like this. Shot on 16mm film, the director/writer pulled this from deep inside, and managed to accurately portray a dark, almost dream like world. It kind of reminds me of Tim Burton. But, not quite. If you're into unique pieces or borderline psychopathic & stylish works of art, you should love this. As a writer/director myself, I say that anyone interested in expanding their own imagination and capabilities should watch this*** See more Robin E @Robin74 Dec 27 What an interesting movie! The film takes place in the mid-80s in Berlin. It seems to me that the film is mainly made from images shot in 1986, digitized much later to finally be edited and released 30 years later. This fantastic film from another time will take you into a story à la Lynch where two men share the same woman in a completely new way! It’s like being in Twin Peaks. A thrilling movie that I highly recommend! See more Terry W Sep 6 The Berlin Bride is a strange and beautiful film about love, loss, desire and yearning, set in 1980s Berlin. It is beguiling from the outset, and will keep you watching all the way through. The passion and skill employed to make this film is obvious, and i'm glad i watched it. The film's visual aesthetic is nothing short of breathtaking, offering a fresh perspective that challenges viewers to see beyond the ordinary. Michael's commitment to authenticity and innovation shines through, making "The Berlin Bride" a compelling journey into uncharted storytelling. See more Rene B 05/30/2024 "The Berlin Bride" is a darkly humorous and surreal tale set against the backdrop of Berlin. The film follows two eccentric Berliners who stumble upon the dismembered parts of a mannequin. What ensues is a bizarre and grotesque journey as each character forms a unique, almost disturbingly personal relationship with their newfound plastic companion. The film stands out for its unique blend of dark comedy and surrealism, creating an atmosphere that's both unsettling and oddly compelling. The performances by the leads are impressively quirky, capturing the oddities of their characters with nuance. The director's vision is clear, using the mannequin as a metaphor for human connection and disconnection in an urban landscape. While some might find its eccentricities a bit too offbeat, "The Berlin Bride" offers a fresh narrative that keeps you engaged and intrigued throughout. Its dark humor and strange charm make it a memorable watch for those who appreciate unconventional cinema. See more Ethan M 04/03/2024 Michael Bartlett's "The Berlin Bride" is a cinematic gem that seamlessly blends the suspenseful intrigue of Alfred Hitchcock with the surrealism of Fellini, resulting in a mesmerizing work of art. From the opening scenes, it's evident that this isn't just another narrative film; it's a visual symphony that captivates the audience's senses and keeps them on the edge of their seats throughout. What struck me most about "The Berlin Bride" is its ability to deliver a captivating story on a minimal budget without sacrificing quality or creativity. Bartlett's ingenious storytelling unfolds layer by layer, keeping viewers guessing until the very end. While it may take a moment to fully immerse oneself in the film's environment, once the story gains momentum, the pace becomes relentless, pulling the audience deeper into its web of mystery and intrigue. One of the film's most remarkable features is its sparing use of dialogue, reminiscent of the silent films of yesteryears. Instead of relying solely on words, Bartlett masterfully utilizes visual cues and subtle hints to convey meaning, inviting viewers to actively engage with the story and uncover its hidden secrets. Every detail, from a tattoo on an arm to a fleeting glimpse of a waitress at a bar, serves a purpose and contributes to the film's stunning conclusion. "The Berlin Bride" is a cinematic experience that transcends the confines of traditional storytelling. It's a testament to Bartlett's visionary talent and his ability to create a truly immersive world that blurs the lines between reality and fantasy. Whether viewed in a gallery or a theater, this film demands to be seen and appreciated for its sheer brilliance. As the credits rolled, I found myself eagerly anticipating what Michael Bartlett has in store in the future. "The Berlin Bride" is a triumph of creativity and imagination, and I can't wait to see where his artistic journey takes us next. See more Read all reviews
