Tony’s tale is a complicated one with no shortage of shame and hurt, but it’s also one of joy and embracing identity, and it’s in all of those shades that this documentary is such a life-affirming achievement. Go to Full Review

(The film) is an important entry in the queer canon. It's an empathetic portrait of a beloved closeted sports figure who survived the only way he knew how at a time when it was career- (and often life-) destroying to be labeled gay. Go to Full Review
