An airplane bearing gruff U.S. Marshal Sam Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones) crashes in the wilderness. On board the same flight is Mark Sheridan (Wesley Snipes), a federal prisoner accused of double murder, who escapes during the ensuing chaos, but not before rescuing several people from the wreckage. Gerard is ordered to hunt down the fugitive along with State Department agent John Royce (Robert Downey Jr.), and the two pursue Sheridan relentlessly, despite growing doubts about his guilt.

The movie's raison d'etre is to pile one energetic action set-piece atop another. Director Stuart Baird, a long-time film editor who turned director two years ago with the gripping and under-rated Executive Decision, delivers these setpieces with aplomb.

Would have been a banging tv show in the 80’s…!!! Acting and storyline fall well short of Predator and Rambo🤯 and then there’s the betrayal to the Yellowstone series, wtf? I’m gonna go and watch neighbours now.

Dime a dozen film with a famous and overused cast, and absolutely nothing special. Unfortunately such productions are being done regularly, as they often make a financial profit.

Brilliant. Very well written and directed. Great cinematography. Good solid story and whole cast excels in character. For the life of me will I ever understand "critics" comparing any movie to it's predecessor or successor. This is a good movie, Tommy Lee Jones brings the swagger and "devil may care" attitude, Snipes shines as the good "bad" guy, rest of star studded cast all convincing. Lots of action, fast pace, drama, intrigue, suspense and emotion. Very entertaining and gripping

Although the supporting roles (with the exception of the unfortunate Noah Newman) remain rather bland and one cannot shake the feeling that they do not take the whole thing very seriously, “U.S. Marshals” is a worthy successor to “The Fugitive.” The story remains exciting, and Tommy Lee Jones is as fitting in his role as he is determined to solve the case. If I had to find fault with the film, it would be that it is a little too long. The story just doesn't lend itself to that.
