Movie Info

Jeff (Charles Bronson) is the New Orleans hit man working for the mob in this violent crime drama. Vanessa (Jill Ireland) is the femme fatal who betrays him and wavers between security and emotion. Jeff goes on a one man quest to stamp out unnecessary violence. Weber (Telly Savalas) is the ruthless crime boss who covets the city's biggest skyscraper. The building becomes symbolic of mob control as a war is fought over control of the structure. An auto chase scene provides some action, but the film is plagued by technical flaws and poor English overdubs. The film was not shown in the United States until 1974. with the emerging popularity of Bronson and Savalas prompting the release. Michel Constantine, Ray Sanders, and Benjamin Lev play Weber's mafia minions.

Charles Bronson gets screwed over in Violent City. In fact, he gets screwed over so many times that the film loses track of its internal timeline.
