Tv Season Info

Season 6 of the animated misadventures of CIA operative Stan Smith and his family kicked off with a two-parter in which Hayley elopes with her slacker-stoner boyfriend, Jeff, much to Stan and Francine's dismay. So Stan offers a $50,000 reward to anyone who can stop the nuptials. In a ho-ho-holiday outing filled with ha-ha-has, Stan gives Steve a gun for Christmas (ignoring Francine's protests, of course), and Steve accidentally shoots Santa Claus with it, leaving the North Pole reeling and jeopardizing Christmas. And in the season finale, Stan and Steve head to the zoo for some father-son bonding, but Steve ends up with the gorillas instead. Meanwhile, Roger bets Hayley that he can become a country star, and sets out to write the most heartbreaking song of all time.

The voice work is still sterling - as with Family Guy, MacFarlane compliments his own leather-smooth vocals by surrounding himself with some choice talent to fill the rest of the cast.

American Dad is probably MacFarlane's most ambitious show in that it more pointedly attempts to mock politics and social situations while remaining true to the classic MacFarlane formula.

Although it is not as strong or consistent a show as Family Guy, American Dad is not without its strengths and it clearly has a good following.

Oct 3, 2018 | Full Review…

The episodes in this set make up the sixth season, which is very solid for most of its run (the last two or three episodes of the season including "Gorillas in the Mist" and "Flirting With Disaster" are a little thin).
