The humor landed like how I expected it to, the voice acting was spot-on, the animation looked great, and the story took what was already in the comic and added to it. See more Monty Jun 12 Nope, the beloved and majestic story in the comic is almost not there at all. If you're going to use the original title to attract audiences, then at least make some effort to have the core of the original in there! While the animation itself is relatively good and there are a couple of funny new details, so much is changed that the original is unrecognizable, and all the new characters and modern references are just unnecessary and distracting. And having several bits of other Asterix comics included to supplement the original "Combat des Chefs" shows a lack of imagination and creativity in trying to artificially extend the original story. The originals have been so successful for a reason. Unfortunately, these adaptation attempt just falls way short. See more Read all reviews
