Bancroft stumbled from the off only to regain some of its footing by the end. Enough though for a second series? I think LoD's Superintendent Ted Hastings would raise an eyebrow at that.

Oh, the plot holes, wide as fishnet stockings, the yawnworthy subplots, the joke violence.

Aside from the clichd dialogue -- "We will find out who did this to her" -- this was truly an implausibility bonanza.

I am a fan of Sarah Parish, who took the lead role as the tough, dedicated but unhinged detective Elizabeth Bancroft. Yet even her talents couldn't make a silk purse out of what was often a sow's ear of a plot.

The first big question of fiction is, "yes, but who cares?" and Bancroft didn't come close to answering it. A shame.
