In Travel Channel's "Destination Fear," documentary filmmaker Dakota Laden, his sister, Chelsea, and his best friend, Tanner Wiseman, travel across the country in an RV to spend nights in haunted locations. From asylums to prisons, they explore abandoned buildings using scientific equipment to capture evidence of paranormal activity. At each site, the luck of the draw determines where each one of them will sleep -- alone and separate from each other -- armed with cameras and dread as their only companions. Episodes include a visit to Brushy State Penitentiary, which is rumored to be rife with paranormal activity. At Old South Pittsburg Hospital, Dakota prepares sister Chelsea to confront a specter that attacks only women. In West Virginia, the team visits Sweet Springs Sanitarium, the site of a massacre of Native Americans, where they hear screams, voices and chants. They also revisit St. Albans Sanatorium, even though Chelsea has vowed she would never return to this awful place.

mickyisnotfine T @RT96593535 01/28/2025 I can't not roll my eyes every 45 seconds. It's just as bad as Ghost Adventures, if not worse. Zak Bagans is 100% full of s**t and most of his "evidence" sounds like a moose farting in over modulation. I'm not saying I for sure don't or do believe in ghosts or the paranormal but I for sure have the wherewithal to differentiate a bat flapping in the dark from a shadow figure out to steal your soul. Groups like this are what keep paranormal studies from being taken seriously or advancing beyond a bunch of bro dudes with go pros shrieking and giggling in the dark while severely disrespecting the memory of the dead. This shouldn't even be considered a documentary series. Also it should be illegal for these people to desecrate the grounds of traumatic events with their over dramatized "search for evil." The Eloise episode especially angered me, they never should have been allowed in there. See more Phyliss R @RT31505611 11/21/2024 I love this show. In my opinion their better than Zak! They are real, their fear is real where as Zak and his crew are more fake. Project Fear on UTube is awesome. I want to know why they pulled the plug on Destination Fear. I bet it was Zak Bagans. See more d m @RT46523195 09/30/2024 This show is so terrrible. It's like Zak Bagans held a lottery of his fans and the winner got to take his bestie and his sister along to pretend they're 'ghost investigators'. I can hear Zak pitching this show using the Paranormal Lockdown premise; "sleep' overnight in haunted bldg and listen to a girl shrieking at the top of her lungs every minute and two guys freaking out repeatedly. Naturally they have to say they're 'testing their limits', which is reached almost as soon as they drive up to the bldg and within 10 seconds of entering it. Going to some of the most haunted locations in the US is going to be terrifying, but the whole 'mystery' angle is just too trumped up and fake...what's the point?. The whole show is built around them saying how freaking scared they are rather than gathering any real evidence of anything and the 'psychological test of endurance' shtick is a bad joke. The exec. producers may just as well send this 'crew' to a good Halloween haunted house, the results would essentially be the same. See more A.J. B @RT37399542 12/24/2022 Just another group of clowns freaking out over every little thing that they think is happening. See more Jena C @RT54100397 12/03/2022 Amazing first season of Destination Fear!!! Love how much the crew has grown by the end of just one season! 🖤👻 See more 06/24/2022 For one, I love paranormal shows and not all shows are the same. I liked the fact that history of the place was given; that they slept in the places that were haunted, but they seemed and acted like high school kids. You could tell things were scripted. Maybe some parts were not. I could not stand the wimpyness that was displayed by this group. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't good. See more Read all reviews
