Jan 11, 2021I'll start with the horrible fact this was clearly filmed during covid quarantine. Meaning, as people died, they kept up home remodeling. Yes home construction was considered an "essential business" so I guess legally they could, but it's disturbing watching a show about someone getting a dream bathroom in this context. I'll add there's many scenes where they aren't good at all with mask wearing, and with Utah now known to have a enormous problems with covid I'm surprised they kept filming and even more surprised Netflix put the show up. Now, on to the stars interior design ability. She's awful. How does she have a show I don't know. The first episode about the basketball players enormous home features a couple who keeps saying over and over how much they traveled the world but then the designer didn't bring any of the world cultures they tracked to into the home design, a real miss. So they made a big couch, that's about as curated things got. I lived in Utah and it all reminded me of the style there: when you have no style just make things BIG. My partner lost it seeing the bland bedroom which looked like any old catalog with a TV that had cords hanging out! In home after home she keeps trying to make everything white. No sense of color. Do people need to spend on a designer to paint walls white? White woman and a white family designs homes for white families and wants all the walls white - in Utah. I mean... It would be great for her to show a lot more variety in design, clean and white is nice for something, but what about lush and opulent, a flare for culture and history, a reflection of people's personality.
