Simple, everyday tasks fascinate David Rees. In this how-to series, Rees deconstructs mundane chores to refine them, like tying shoes, lighting matches and making ice cubes. Navigating whys, hows and what-ifs, he learns the science and history of each task, then devises a more-efficient technique. David hangs out with people who dedicate their lives to mastering their fields: circus performers, evolutionary biologists, lock-pickers, arm wrestlers -- and someone known as "Professor Shoelace." Writer/comic/entrepreneur Rees combined his skills to produce the book "How to Sharpen Pencils" in 2012.
