First introduced to viewers on Bravo's "9 by Design," New York-based interior designers Robert and Cortney Novogratz have developed a reputation for creating wildly original spaces that blend a funky, urban-chic style with an unpretentious design sensibility. And it's all self-taught. On their HGTV series, the husband and wife team take on residential design projects, mixing colors and textures and incorporating eclectic shopping finds. The results are spectacularly customized makeovers that, the couple say, are perfect for parents who want to buy on a budget -- but don't want it to look that way. On top of managing their growing business, the Novogratzes keep very busy with their growing family -- seven kids ranging from teenager to toddler.
