With any new sitcom gratuitous show-business references are the surest sign of a creativity shortage. In fact, there's only one really good joke in the Home Free premiere, and O'Donnell and Gurman are desperate enough to tell it twice. Go to Full Review

What pulls Home Free out of the formula pack are some nice writing touches (the mother, for example, is allowed to be funny and maternal at the same time), a feel for the rhythms of sibling rivalry, and the genuine charm of its three stars. Go to Full Review
