The stakes, in other words, couldn't be much higher. I Am Cait now has no choice but to get this right.

I Am Cait mimics typical reality TV by trying to force dramatic narratives onto day-to-day life. And while spotting the fakeness was part of the fun of the Kardashians, here it verges on counterproductive.

E!'s Caitlyn Jenner reality show I Am Cait is the opposite of trainwreck TV - orchestrated, yes, but still authentic, with moments that moved me to tears and a higher purpose beyond moving Kardashian-related merchandise.

It's deep stuff.

I Am Cait is a respectable TV show with noble motives that easily evades my worst anxieties for it. And in doing so, it slams into what I never, ever could have imagined for it: dullness.

The intention is undoubtedly a noble one.

After watching the first episode, it feels like Caitlyn Jenner's new docuseries I Am Cait could be the most resonant and groundbreaking piece of television to come around in a long time.

The biggest surprise of the summer is how many real, earnest, truly moved tears I have cried over I Am Cait, which, despite its detour into Karsashianville last week, has actually served as a sort of mini-documentary to educate.

This look at Caitlyn Jenner adjusting to life as a woman, is a thoughtful and sensitive piece of television. Viewed on its own of course it feels like just more trashy reality celeb stuff. Everything is relative I guess.

E!'s new docu- series following Caitlyn Jenner's brave, scary and sensationally well-coiffed early months living her life openly as a woman.

Why are these critics giving this show super high ratings???!!! Do they really want us to keep being force-fed this Kardashian/reality TV crap that is saturating the airwaves???!!!
  • Sep 18, 2015
No thanks. I support Jenner's right to a personal"journey", but taking it to a "reality" TV show, in her 60's, just seems incredibly narcissistic and attention seeking, more Kardashian than real. You seem to want everything else women have, Caitlyn, so I suggest finding some dignity and grace in your senior years as a female.

Fuck this disgusting pile of QUEER

The ultimate cross dresser, he looks like a complete woman on the outside. On the inside however, X chromosomes are still X chromosomes and Y chromosomes are still Y chromosomes. Bruce Jenner is just as much of a man as he'll ever be and this show is very confusing for the viewers out there that are good loving people who only wish to be accepting and do what is right. I AM CAIT replaces human morality with political correctness, resulting in the acceptance of perversion being mistaken for the embracing of human fulfillment. The end result is your young child watching TV and then questioning if they were really meant to be the opposite gender too? Over labeling and political correctness are ruining our society and I AM CAIT perfectly embodies both.

As usual, the paid critics get is so freaking wrong.
  • Aug 24, 2015
I know this is for a good cause, but it is more like an infomercial.
  • Aug 24, 2015
She is an inspiration to those that are struggling with their own gender identity. An opportunity to understand the struggle within is thought provoking, insightful, and, hopefully, earns our compassion and respect for their decisions and struggles.
  • Aug 20, 2015
This isn't inspirational. Its just shit
  • Aug 16, 2015
Should be called - Now I'm a Kardashian female too.
  • Aug 14, 2015
The critics' reviews of this show is reminiscent of the Oscar nomination for"Twelve Years a Slave"; just because a movie is directed by or stars people of historically oppressed, mistreated, and/or persecuted communities, doesn't means it's any good. This show is just an ego-booster, showing that Caitlyn, like the rest of the Kardashians, is better off ignored.
