What to Know

Critics Consensus

With a playful tone and an expansive sweep that allows Anne Rice's gothic opus to mull like a chalice of blood, Interview with the Vampire puts a stake through concerns that this story couldn't be successfully resurrected.

This new Interview is far more faithful to Rice than was the movie – and nowhere near as much fun. Go to Full Review

Vampires are always a bit camp and sensual, penetrating fangs an obvious metaphor, but sex runs through this series like the blood through a swooning maiden’s veins. Go to Full Review

Vito F @Spank80 Jan 22 Affascinante... Ben recitato. Una storia piena di passione. See more Sinéad W @Sine_86 Jan 18 I was hesitant to watch this as I thought it might be another cheap remake. But I enjoyed this more than the original movie. The storyline, the character development, the soundtrack, the acting skills, the colour grading I loved it all. Definitely worth the watch. See more Nedra G. @Nana55150 Jan 2 I loved it. The dynamic between Louis and Lestat is fantastic See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Dec 31 Season one of Interview with the Vampire takes a different approach than the original film, framing the story as a reflective retelling rather than a straightforward journey. Instead of simply reliving the events, the series unfolds through Louis recounting his past while still alive, revisiting his memories as someone revisits a written record. This structure works surprisingly well and gives the story a more introspective, layered tone. The screenplay is strong and purposeful, successfully making the audience both fascinated by and repelled by certain characters. It expands the lore in meaningful ways, introducing new figures that feel organic to the world and deepen the mythology rather than distract from it. These additions give the series room to grow beyond what longtime fans already know. Direction and performances elevate the material, pushing several actors into standout territory. The "interview within the story" concept feels justified and cohesive See more Paula M. @prxmo Dec 21 Loved it honestly, not much of a following multiple stories, but for a first watch this time, I loved it a lot. the acting and characters, especially Bailey bass. Have to admit I liked the first season more than the other, I wish they brought her back, as in my opinion I’d rewatch the first season a lot more rather than the second. See more Morgan T @Morgan406 Dec 20 The attention to detail this show gives alone deserves its own review. The actors have truly devoted themselves to these characters while also bringing their own unique complimentary spin to them. I have absolutely fallen in love with Sam Reid and his poetry portray of the complicated character known as Lestat. The chemistry between him and Jacob Anderson who plays Louis is unmatched and really draws you in. Perhaps we’re all being hunted? See more Read all reviews
