Fledgling detective Phryne Fisher is known for her sharp wit and pearl-handled pistol, which she uses to fight injustice in Melbourne during the 1920s. The glamorous sleuth makes her way through the city's alleyways and jazz clubs while she fights crime as part of a larger mission -- making sure that Murdoch Foyle, who she believes is responsible for the disappearance of her younger sister, stays behind bars. She fights for justice for people who can't help themselves, including exploited workers and missing girls.

philip o @Philip60 07/17/2022 It is just that good. I bought the box with all 3 seasons I regularly rewatch this amazing show. Why don't writers and producers take a good look at this work of art. It has all the qualities an amazing show needs: plot, pacing, dialogue, storytelling and characters. See more 06/15/2022 I think with this being the last season it could have had a better ending. I wasn't a big fan of the Baron's storyline or his entire character. But this season also does have some great episodes and they do manage to tie everything up into an ok ending for the series. Even if we hadn't gotten a movie this would have been okay. See more 06/26/2021 Based on Kerry Greenwood's excellent crime novels, it is historically absolutely accurate while still being fast, glamorous and funny. Phryne is one of the best written lead characters on television (male or female) and the costumes are as stunning as she is: she shines throughout while the writing and direction allow the ensemble their own grace notes.... The mystery plots, humour and pace are excellent, the characters have genuine accents of their class and time, and perhaps best of all, it's wonderful to see 1928 Melbourne, Australia particularly St Kilda portrayed perfectly.
