You come wanting to watch another season of the awesome bounty hunter dad get into space fantasy hijinks with his clever children. only to see him removed from the series in the first 20 minutes and only return and the last couple of episodes. The dad was resorted to being nothing more than a MacGuffin as the mom takes over the show only to be just another cookie cutter girl boss. Overly aggressive, No redeeming qualities. No story arc or character development for her. She doesn't need to learn anything or improve anything about her character. She just has to girl boss her way to victory and rescue her useless husband. The first season was filled with cool action scenes as the father would get into hand-to-hand combats with formidable aliens tussling and trading blows and barely coming out on top, but still showing that he's competent and strong. The mom on the other hand, just one shot's aliens with one punch sending them flying across the room and these aliens look like they outweigh her about four times over. But of course she's going to be able to do that because reasons. I watched the series up until the 6th episode only to lose interest and then I predicted what the end was going to be skipped to the last episode just to see every single story beat that I predicted to come to fruition. The worst part about this style of writing is it's not only lazy but it's painfully predictable and uninteresting. This is not the way to make strong interesting female characters. We relate to characters because of their flaws and the things that they learn and seeing them grow because that's how we see ourselves. We cannot relate to characters that are perfect and beyond reproach. When will they learn that this type of character that they keep shoving in our faces is not a role model to little girls or to anyone and is just painfully boring and uninteresting.
