More than a decade after the original series went off the air, Netflix reboots the "Queer Eye" franchise with a new Fab Five and a new setting, trading in the concrete jungle of New York City for other areas of the United States. The style experts forge relationships with men and women who often have different beliefs from them, leading to moments of social commentary interspersed with style advice. Advising people in need of lifestyle makeovers are food and wine specialist Antoni Porowski, interior designer Bobby Berk, grooming consultant Jonathan Van Ness, fashion designer Tan France and culture expert Karamo Brown, who reality TV fans may recognize as one of the housemates on "The Real World: Philadelphia." David Collins, who created the original show, is on board as an executive producer.

In its most poignant moments, and there are many, this show is compassionate, humanising and completely heartening. Go to Full Review

But what remains consistently rewarding about "Queer Eye" is the recognition that these and other tweaks and improvements are part of an overall building up of people who, for varying reasons, feel left out somehow. Go to Full Review

Queer Eye season 5 has done an excellent job of highlighting great people who deserve a little bit of help in their lives. On top of this, the Fab 5 are still their wonderfully queer selves, dishing out advice that anyone and everyone can take to heart. Go to Full Review

It remains a lesson in love, spirituality and truth and with activism, feminism, queer acceptance, self-worth and sheer black joy in one easy-to-watch show, it's a fountain from which to fill our cups, so we can continue the fight. Go to Full Review

The only message it's forcing on me is that of love and acceptance, which feels more appropriate than ever and also provides some much-needed joy. What seemed like a disadvantage a year ago now seems like a serious strength. Go to Full Review

12/20/2021 I was very disappointed with the season 5. It felt like the hosts were feeling too superior and too celebrities to be around "normal" people. Sad. Life advises weren't deep (Karamo), the work in the kitchen almost zero (Antoni), Tan France was aggressive and almost rude towards the people he was assisting. Jonathan is very sweet but the hairstyles he was advising weren't nice although I love his conversations. Bobby Berk was, as usual, the best of the five, professional, serious, kind and involved in the people's lives, beautiful to see. Unfortunately this season 5 wasn't good enough and, perhaps, some members should be replaced. See more 05/15/2021 I enjoy this show but after viewing episode in Missouri on farm animals with 2 of the Fab. 5 refusing to enter the barn when their client invites them in for a closer look because they arent "farm people" and "might catch rabies from dirty-a** animals" I am done. Too bad, Fab 5 cant embrace different lifestyles in the country/farm the way they preach love and acceptance. See more 07/26/2020 Best season yet - so many loveable heroes and I love the slightly more political nature of some of the episodes. See more 06/23/2020 Love you guys...you can come and makeover me anytime...True inspiration...I never want anyone to touch my hair or makeup but I truly believe you would do a phenomenal job! You make people not want to give up...you give them hope...thank you. See more 06/09/2020 Is it just me or does it just feel like the guys aren't into it anymore? They picked a pretty mixed bag of heroes this season but nobody who I really connected to. The story telling, about the heroes lives and the transformations just isn't as good this season. See more 06/07/2020 Each episode has to be looked at individually. There were some heroes on the show that the Fab 5 did not seem to connect with this season (especially episodes 5 and 6), and this makes the whole interactions between the Fab 5 and the hero incredibly awkward. If the Fab 5 is not connecting with the heroes like they connect with Mamma Tammye, then the episode is not worth watching. Highly recommend the episodes with Noah, Kevin, Tyreek, and Rahanna. Have not watch episodes 7-10 yet, but I have high expectations for this show, so we will see how it goes. See more Read all reviews
