What to Know

Critics Consensus

Servant's devotion to gothic absurdity pays off handsomely in a confident final season, with this singular series ending on a note of characteristically wry disquiet.

[T]he show remains committed to the pitch-black kookiness it’s had since its first episode, and whether it sticks the landing or not, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Go to Full Review

What began as an eerie drama about a wealthy Philadelphia couple... [has] evolved into something utterly deranged, a chilling tale of cults, conspiracies and plagues with a unique performance from Rupert Grint as Dorothy’s dissolute brother Julian. Go to Full Review

That push and pull between denial and acceptance—of the mysteries of faith, of the dark acts we’re capable of committing in the name of love and family, of belief and its corruption—is...what makes Servant such a provocative and irresistible watch. Go to Full Review

That duality ensures the conclusion is effectively bittersweet, bringing this pitch-black Mary Poppins to a close with torrential rain, brimstone, and a dash of well-earned forgiveness. Go to Full Review

No sangrientas, no explícitas, sino… incómodas. Morbosas. No intenta gustar. (ENGLISH) Servant lingered with me for days. Not because of the jump scares —those are there— but because of this slow, creeping discomfort that settles under your skin. I expected "another Shyamalan mystery," with weird twists and big reveals, but this show plays in a different league. It’s more intimate, more twisted, almost rotten in a way that feels unsettling. And once it gets you, it’s impossible to stop. Everything happens inside one house, and somehow that’s enough. The kitchen, the hallway, the living room… every corner starts to feel off, as if the rooms themselves were becoming part of the nightmare. Sometimes I paused just to breathe, because between the camera work, the sound, the silences and those looks that last a second too long, it all builds up like a pressure cooker. The actors are phenomenal. No one here plays "normal." Everyone looks worn out, guilty, scared, or all three at the same time. Lauren Ambrose is fantastic, but Nell Tiger Free is on another level —just watching her stand still is uncomfortable. She always feels like she knows something the audience doesn’t. Yes, the show has ups and downs. Some episodes stretch the mystery more than necessary. But even when not much happens, the atmosphere keeps you glued to the screen. Servant works more on mood than answers, and if you enter its rhythm, it’s addictive. Some scenes are genuinely hard to watch —not violent, just… disturbing. And by the time the ending arrives, you’re left with a strange mix of relief and emptiness. It’s not a show made for everyone, but if you connect with its darkness, it stays with you long after it’s over. See more Servant B Aug 12 Best show ever created on Apple TV . Masterpiece See more George S Jun 1 So it turns out the creators of Servant decided to wrap things up after four seasons and it really shows. Despite the strong cast and beautifully crafted atmosphere, the final season felt rushed and full of plot holes. Events started happening with little logic or buildup, almost like they were just trying to tick boxes and get to the end. For me, the ending was especially disappointing. One of the most important moments like the “fall of Jericho's walls” sequence was reduced to a scream and a vague, underwhelming confrontation. It lacked emotional weight and payoff. What should have been a climax felt more like a messy sprint to the finish line. The actors were outstanding throughout, and the show’s mood and tension were consistently top-notch. But the writing? More holes than a slice of European cheese. A frustrating end to a series that once promised so much. See more Ximena Irán C Feb 23 Very good series, it has an incredible development of each character, the plot is extremely ingenious and plays with the mysticism of the sects in a very interesting way. I love that each character has different nuances, no one is good or bad but all are dealing with their own demons, which they let it shine at the end. The best horror series of the year !!!! Went into this completely BLIND to the storyline, just a longtime fan of MNS films, but OMG...this hits hard in the gut! I appreciate the tenderness, sarcasm and macabre Shyalaman infused into this nail biting thriller. Exceptionally talented actors and loved the soundtrack as well! Bravo!
