Must Watch
It has real tension that builds up a notch, especially with episode two if you found the first one a little slow. There are excellent performances, realistic dialogue and you have no idea where it is really going. The acting is great, stick with it. Go to Full Review

The latest outing chimes with our growing contemporary anxiety about fragmenting communities, about alienation, about the malevolent figures who rush to fill a vacuum created by unemployment, poverty and unmet needs of all kinds. Go to Full Review

This is not the conceptual masterpiece that season one was, but each episode is still gripping and deeply exciting. The series is paced incredibly well, filled with action, and retains the ability to shock and surprise. Go to Full Review

What isn’t in doubt is that it’s a pretext for a string of powerful performances by an impressive cast. Go to Full Review

Despite a story that feels more generic in Season 2, and characters we’re unsure have a place in that story, we still like the performances in Sherwood, which is what will keep us streaming the series. Go to Full Review

Paul k Aug 29 It was bad from the begining. Instead of a good story and acting, it just contained all the required mentally ill social issues. See more Liz B Aug 16 SHERWOOD ranks as one of the best TV SERIES of all time, so far I’ve only placed three Series on that list: The Sopranos, Homeland, Succession and now the fourth——Sherwood. I can’t find fault with anything except I’m waiting here in Washington DC for Season 3 to drop (obviously for a Yank like me, I hope it’s available on Britbox, + Netflix, Hulu, etc. See more Andrei D Jul 27 It's very engaging and the acting works but needs more context See more tim h May 21 An emotionally charged series recounting lives impacted by the miner strikes in the UK during the Thatcher era. Crime, drugs and heartache are all juxtaposed into a tangle of self pity, remorse and at times love. Families caught up in the mess of unemployment, lost opportunities and loss of self existence, slowly implode. Strong lead performances and a professional cast make this a must watch for all drama and crime viewers in search of reality, not fluff. See more Mo C Apr 14 So sick of all these shows having a “rotten cop” as the culprit to every crime. Poor imagination, Bad writing and lazy production. Give it up now, absolute crap! See more eWAG 7 Feb 26 So plot is so forced, it's laughable. Then you have Mr "I'm a cop I'm not a cop" bouncing around trying to be everyone's helper and the conscience of the town- he ends up being the most annoying melodramatic character. Season 2 is a ridiculous mess. See more Read all reviews
