Stags tends to more timidly hedge its bets: too flippant too often to be a fierce Breaking Bad-esque saga, but not willing to be silly enough to latch onto the potential for an Inbetweeners-style farce. Go to Full Review

There is time, of course, for Stags to find its feet, but so far the vibe is a high-speed montage of every bachelor party movie ever made. Go to Full Review

TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Jan 6 Stags is a chaotic, uneven British series that blends spoof comedy with jailhouse and crime-style absurdity. It often feels like multiple ideas colliding at once, which can be both entertaining and frustrating. The tone swings wildly—sometimes it’s silly and fun, other times it’s boring, overstuffed, or oddly restrained. The screenplay is eccentric and very British in its humor, relying heavily on exaggerated characters and over-the-top situations. If you’re not into that style, it can be hard to stay engaged. The acting matches the tone: intentionally goofy and theatrical, working well in certain scenes but falling flat in others. Some characters stand out and are genuinely enjoyable, helping carry weaker moments. Overall, Stags is hit-or-miss. It’s creative and unapologetically stupid at times, making it worth a look if you’re in the mood for something goofy and unconventional, but it won’t work for everyone. See more Read all reviews
