The sight of a light saber coming to life has become about as thrilling as turning on a table lamp. Go to Full Review

The performances overall are more dynamic, the writing more engaging than usual for Disney+, which keeps the series from dragging like its predecessors. Go to Full Review

While The Acolyte is mostly able to skirt by given how well its cast sells the emotional context of each scene, the degree of narrative withholding Headland is attempting here threatens to undermine a lot of this otherwise strong character work. Go to Full Review

I enjoyed The Acolyte, and once it finished, I couldn’t wait to do a complete rewatch to spot the connections, the references, the foreshadowing, and all the details I overlooked the first time around. Go to Full Review

We got incredible, multi-dimensional characters who made us feel all the emotions and whom we’re going to miss. I can’t remember the last time I fell so instantly in love with new characters. I’m so glad The Acolyte exists and that we got to see it. Go to Full Review

Alec S @alecsarkas 1d This Star Wars series is phenomenal and I was hooked from the first episode. I’m a devoted Original Trilogy fan (since 1977) so it did take time for me to tune in (years, in fact) but after I did so, I couldn’t stop myself from watching the whole series in one sitting. Everything works: the storytelling, the action, the unexpected surprises, the touching drama and clever filmmaking—it’s all in this series which plays out like a movie when watching all the episodes back-to-back. There are callbacks throughout this series and I love that because it ties it all together, even if this is set way at the beginning of the Star Wars timeline. It’s no secret that this series was cancelled after its initial run but as of Spring of 2026, it’s back in the news again and probably because of fans like me tuning in for the first time. Maybe the series will get a second season, maybe it will get spinoffs, but even if it doesn’t I’m glad it exists in the Star Wars universe as brilliant as it is. See more Ainara S @RT74470054 Apr 11 I really liked this absolute master piece i liked how they developed the characters, and i liked how the story ends in the perspective of the villans '' sith'', i hope they would make a season two cause it was amazing. See more Nathan J. @NathanDirector Apr 8 Rating: 5.9/10 ⭐️ I was super curious to dive into a Star Wars story from the villains’ POV, but messy writing left me disappointed. What Worked: Practical sets and location shoots gave the environments a beautifully grounded texture. Jacinto and Lee carry the show with awesome wuxia-inspired lightsaber combat. Through my Methodist faith lens, seeing the Jedi struggle with hidden sins deeply resonated with my belief that no one is perfectly righteous without grace, and covering up the past only breeds darkness. The Cuts: Dumping full flashback episodes in the middle made the mystery really drag for me. Keeping it spoiler-free, character motivations flip-flop so fast it gave me total whiplash, making it super hard to care about their arcs. Since it got canceled, ending an eight-hour mystery on massive cliffhangers is a huge letdown. Verdict: Visually cool but narratively messy. An okay watch for martial arts lightsaber fights, but skip if you hate unresolved cliffhangers. See more Jaycen D. @JDtheGoat Mar 31 Technically there are a few positives to the show. I think the show is well-shot and there’s some good fight choreography (especially in episode 5), but everything else this show tries to do is an absolute embarrassment to Star Wars. I don’t think this is the outright worst thing in existence, but it’s still not a good show. See more Read all reviews
