Episodes like “Legacy” push Superman into moral gray areas, echoing classic comic arcs where he’s seen as a potential threat rather than savior. The tone is darker, the stakes higher, and the world-building unmatched. While a few plots repeat old beats, the season’s depth, emotional weight, and setup for the DCAU’s future make this the definitive Superman animated story.
