"Tattoo Girls" documents the working and personal relationships among the staff at Ink Ink, the only all-female tattoo studio in the Midwest. Owned and operated by young entrepreneur Kelsey, Ink Ink opened in 2013 to offer an alternative to masculine, sometimes intimidating traditional tattoo parlors. Working alongside Kelsey are her longtime friends Brittany, who manages the business and is its only piercer; Megan, the team's lead artist and youngest member; and Nikki, the shop's troubleshooter and resident mom. Also featured is hot-shot newcomer Liz, whose artistic skills and strong personality combine to create some turmoil within the ranks.
