Andrew P. @Andersons Dec 1 Testament is one of the most powerful biblical shows I’ve ever watched, and I love how it brings the Book of Acts to life in such a real, emotional way. The way they portray the early church, the miracles, the persecution, and the boldness of the apostles makes you feel like you’re right there living it with them. Steven, Peter, and Saul are all incredible actors — they carry the story with so much passion and authenticity that it honestly made me appreciate Acts in a whole new way. Watching Saul’s hatred towards Christians, Peter’s leadership, and Stephen’s faith hit me hard and reminded me why these stories matter. It’s beautifully done, faith-building, and something I’m already excited to watch season 2! See more Jeremy R Nov 1 Loved this show it captivated me. Took a min to get in to it but once i did i couldn't stop. Really well done. See more susan b Aug 18 Unexpectedly excellent! The book of Acts is set in more modern times yet it follows the book of Acts in the Bible amazingly well. The writing, casting and acting is top notch. Can't wait to see more! See more Andrew S Aug 9 The TV series covered Jesus rising up from the tomb. We have received the gift of the Holy Spirit to comfort us and to guide us. Then it moved to the 12 disciples reimagined into a modern era setting and we see a baptism. Watchers will get to witness the story of Act into a today theme. It is a live action series with thought provoking concepts. I thought it was very interesting to watch and learn in movie format about the Bible and the Acts events. I believe this will help watchers learn more about the story of Jesus and connect it to an entirely new audience. I don’t think the changes they made in the series changed the message of the Bible in any shape or form. I think the series will continue to lure new members in and keep people hooked until the end of Acts. There are tons of surprises and fun scenes that await you in this awesome series. See more Teri O Aug 8 TESTAMENT is set in a modern alternate dystopian reality, but the series is both reverent and relevant. It follows the Book of Acts very well and does not compromise the Biblical message. In fact, each episode inspired me to read the corresponding passages in Acts. The series packs a lot more into these verses than is written in the Bible, but everything that they add seems entirely plausible and actually helps in better understanding, by fleshing out the characters and leaving me with a deeper appreciation for what the early believers went through. I watched all 8 episodes of the first season in two days! TESTAMENT is a great way to introduce teens and adults to the Book of Acts in a fresh and exciting way. Believers and nonbelievers alike will be captivated by the gripping narrative, gritty settings, stirring music, and action-packed scenes. There are moments of deep emotion, intense drama, and surprising joy. The people’s struggles are real, and you can relate to them. The story’s exploration of faith, community, and courage in the face of adversity is a timeless message that resonates with audiences today, making the Book of Acts come alive for a modern generation. I can't wait for the next season! See more Faith R @labornotinvain Aug 8 Episode 1: The first episode introduces the alternate modern day that the series is set in, showing the beginning tremors of world-changing grassroots revolution. I think that the show creators did an excellent job of taking and staying true to the original text, while showing it in a modern context. You can see where they took great pains to stay true to the source material, while making it exciting and fresh, showing the great risks that the disciples and early apostles took to spread the good news. We are introduced to Stephen, a young man, who steps off the plotted path to follow Jesus, leaving everything behind. The first episode shows the bigger plot emerging as the characters are introduced, and the un-ignorable political tensions are shown in force. Episode 2: Picking up right where the previous episode left off, we are introduced to more of the characters and get a glimpse inside their day-to-day operations and see the weight of what they are up against with the Sanhedrin. I liked the portrayal of Saul, and how we delve more into the character of Peter and how he is haunted by his denial of Christ and how that shapes him. I liked that it doesn't shy away from the questioning and complexity by digging into the characters. Well done speculative action-drama series, manages to keep you on your toes even when you have an idea of the plot and the direction it may go. You can tell that every aspect of this series was thought out, from the color palette, music choices, the style with which it was filmed, as well as how we might have progressed into the modern age without the influence of Christ and the early church having happened yet. There are strong artistic choices made that add to the emphasis of the series and bring the world they created to life. I noticed the use of lighting and contrast really helps to set the tone. A full cast of very talented actors bring this thought-provoking story to life about the early church, brought into the modern day. Appropriate for families with older children and teens. #TestamentMIN #MomentumInfluencerNetwork Disclosure: Many thanks to Angel for providing a one-month Angel Guild membership for this review.
