Depraved underachieving might look easy, but for the egocentric Mac, Charlie, Dennis, Frank and Dee, it's an art form; "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" follows "The Gang," the owners of the unsuccessful Paddy's Pub; a group of degenerates who loves nothing more than to scheme, conspire, and mostly revel in each other's misery; whether gaming the welfare system, exploiting dumpster babies, pretending to be crippled, impersonating officers or faking funerals, The Gang never stoops too low in the name of making a buck.

See more Massoud H @Massoud Aug 28, 2026 Seasons 1-17 of Always Sunny are my favorite TV ever. And Season 17 had some of the greatest, most ingenious and artistic pieces of television ever made. All three episodes of this season thus far have been terrible. I say this with the utmost admiration for everything until the very last episode of Season 17. The writing has begun to recycle the brilliance of the past in a less effective way. The acting has lost its bite and nuance, across the board. Overly broad humor. What was outlandish before was still very intricately woven. Even so, what came before remains the funniest and smartest comedy ever made in television history. As of the third episode of Season 18, things have taken a wrong turn. Maybe it's because they're all involved in so much else, but I ask that they remember this is the lightning that struck for them that strikes for so few else, and that they prioritize this over whatever else they've got going on.
