The animation is great. The fight scenes were also high-energy, gorgeously animated, and inventive. It had some good callbacks to the original show with the introduction of Toph. The overall storyline itself was engaging.

In my opinion, this is the worst season of Korra. Despite its great villain, Kuvira, something just seemed off about this season. I liked the plot line of Korra's ptsd, but it just seems like it wasn't as exciting as Book 1 or 3.

As for the last book of this show. I thought it left on a good note. Korra went through so much character development in this last book. The villain was also well written. I enjoyed the development the other characters get too. The animation was of course amazing. And the big epic battle was intense. I thought the series' last episodes was a good send off.

Great animation again this season by Studio Mir. Korra Alone was probably my favorite episode in the entire show. Overall, I thought this season gave a thoughtful exploration of mental health which was interesting to see. Ultimately, Korra, like Avatar before it, is a pastiche of different influences - so I wasn't surprised to see a Iron Giant-esque/Castle in the Sky-style robot, seeing how Ghibli and others have influenced the show so much. If there was one thing I could change, I wish the show had more of an overall story that spanned throughout the seasons, but I do like that the show concludes each season's storyline at the end. In the case of season 4, the finale didn't feel like a complete ending for the entire show, but it did end hopefully.

Korra's journey reaches a full circle. The finale season of Korra arguably presents some of the most thought-provoking episodes of the entire franchise, but once again the greatest flaw is you'll be left wanting for more as it ends far too soon.

This season continues the show's trend of nice action scenes and a completely forgettable story. There's also a discount Gundam.
  • Sep 21, 2021
Studio Mir's animation remains great and the creative fight choreography remains top notch. Loved the animation sequence in the finale fight against the antagonist where Korra bended metal like water. Story-wise, I thought the Korra Alone was one of the strongest in the franchise. This season brought the show to an end, not with a concrete ending, but rather a new beginning. Overall, really glad I watched the show and sad to see it come to an end. Its detailed 2D animation and characters was a breath of fresh air in this animation landscape.

One of the things I love about The Legend of Korra is that it's not afraid of having mature characters take an important role in the story, whilst leaving room for the younger. I enjoyed getting to know the new characters, like Tenzin's kids and the leaders of the Earth empire. I wasn't nearly as invested in this show as other people I know, but I can say the ending felt satisfying. Korra's development during the season felt realistic, and when she finally recovered, she deserved it. I'm glad the love triangle ended the way it did, although I would've loved to see a more substantial development of their relationship in the series.
  • Jul 22, 2021
The humor in The Legend of Korra was okay in the first 3 seasons, but it gets better in this 4th and final season. And despite being a sequel to Avatar The Last Airbender and some sequels not turning out well, especially for movies, The Legend of Korra is a sequel series that is just as special as Avatar The Last Airbender. It is by far the best, and that's that.
  • Jul 18, 2021
The animation, action sequences, and fight choreography continue to be great. Some really creative use of bending in the final fight. The standout episode for me this season was Korra Alone, and focus on Korra as a character. Overall, I really enjoyed this season and Legend of Korra in general.
