Harry H. @Movies10 Nov 19 Pretty good first season favorite episode is No News is bad news (S1 Ep.3) See more Nathan J. @TribianiRamoray Nov 8 Rating: 7.1/10 The Bad Guys: Breaking In is a fast, fun prequel that translates the film's stylized heist-comedy to an episodic format, but is held back by lower animation quality and a different voice cast. Highlights - Smart Premise: The prequel explores the crew's early days, with a fun "heist-of-the-week" structure. - Dynamic Crew: The show maintains the crew's dynamic and adds a fun supporting cast. - Kinetic Energy: The series captures the original film's energy and stylistic flair. Criticisms - Younger Audience Focus: Episodic plots lack the emotional stakes of the feature film. - Voice Cast Change: The new cast, while competent, lacks the original's star-powered chemistry. - Animation Quality: The animation is simplified and flatter compared to the film. Verdict The Bad Guys: Breaking In is a solid, fun prequel series that respects the source material, but is overshadowed by the original film's polish and A-list voice cast. Yes, its not the original cast and the character movements look like something from an animatrionic. But I really loved this series, the comedy was actually funny, the acting wasn't annoying unlike the specials and the animation has improved over the specials. Only two episodes weren't that great, one was boring and the other was disrespectful to Mr. Wolf. But if I'm in the mood for a Bad Guys Netflix watch, this is what I want to look at. Can't wait for Bad Guys 3. See more Read all reviews
