The world of high fashion turns dark when international supermodels begin dying in gruesome and mysterious ways. FBI Agents Cooper Madsen and Jordan Bennett are sent to Paris to uncover the truth. As they delve deeper into the case, they uncover a sexually transmitted virus that transforms ordinary people into visions of physical perfection, but with terrifying consequences. Their path leads them directly into the crosshairs of "The Corporation", a shadowy tech billionaire who has secretly engineered a miracle drug dubbed “The Beauty,” who will do anything to protect his trillion-dollar empire --including unleashing his lethal enforcer, “The Assassin”. As the epidemic spreads, Jeremy, a desperate outsider, is caught in the chaos, searching for purpose as the agents race across Paris, Venice, Rome and New York to stop a threat that could alter the future of humanity.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Caking on visceral splatter over an engaging takedown of modern beauty standards, Ryan Murphy's gonzo sci-fi horror is a disgustingly good time, even if its cultural commentary only goes skin deep.

The whole show looks so good – ironically, very conventionally cinematically beautiful – that it feels pointless to linger or ponder... This is face-lift TV, taut and tight and very smooth, even if you never really believe it’s real. Go to Full Review
Graeme Blundell The Australian Feb 3
Murphy again revels in the juxtaposition of the beautiful and the ugly and violent, and the series is shot with his distinguishing sense of aesthetic fascination. Go to Full Review

It might get tripped up by its own aspirations at time, but it’s one of Murphy’s better series. Go to Full Review

It’s deranged enough to be more tolerable than those Murphy shows that tiptoe into what its creators consider “relevance.” Go to Full Review

Gorgeous, unhinged ridiculousness. Go to Full Review

It's slick and well-shot and chock full of cameos, but five episodes in, it's already spinning its wheels. The good news, however, is that it hasn't yet succumbed to Ryan Murphy Syndrome and completely s--- the bed. Go to Full Review

George C @RT16348409 16h The first season was a waste of time. The cliffhanger ending was truly annoying. I will not watch the second season. See more Jasmine E. @Jass.Badu 1d This first season is definitely worth the watch. I loved the entire season—the story kept me hooked and the acting felt natural and believable. Each episode pulled me in more and kept me wanting to see what would happen next. Smart, entertaining, and surprisingly thought-provoking. What really stood out was how accurately the show reflects society’s obsession with beauty standards. The irony of watching a show about beauty culture while weight-loss and prescription skincare ads play during the commercial break practically proves the show’s point in real time. Even the fictional Beauty drug commercial—with its rapid-fire list of disturbing side effects—felt eerily similar to real prescription ads. And that cliffhanger ending? Don’t leave us hanging—no pun intended. We definitely need a Season 2. See more Brenda B. @LillaP 1d Excellent social commentary on the price we pay for beauty. Some of the acting is lacking (Ashton….). There are a couple of surprises along the way that keep it interesting. See more Mikkel H @Beevocate 3d The characters were poorly written Antonio's lines are simply an iteration of "I'm a killer" and "I did it for my family". Blaming something like killing on providing for a family is simply not a good enough of an excuse to kill. I want to know what motivated him specifically to kill, not just to work ANY JOB. Byron Forst is even worse. He is simply evil because he has money? We get a flashback episode where we see him before he turns young in which he kills titans of different industries simply to prove to the viewer that he is in fact evil. When attempting to understand the motivation for his wrongdoings the only explanation we get is that he is rich? Franny Forst suffers even more from this shallow character creation. She is there to harass Byron and stand in the way of his "success"/evil plan. We don't get any background as to how their relationship got this bad, but now they just scream at each other for no apparent reason to fill out the episodes with useless info See more Pedro Henrique C @Pedro2005 4d The Beauty - Season 1: To begin with, this series is full of blunders, with several situations that weren't explained or explored in depth. The last episode is a real disappointment, rushed and full of cuts. This is the worst series of 2026 so far. See more Johann D. M @Johann33 5d VISCERAL AND STRANGELY COMPELLING!!! With such an intriguing premise, Ryan Murphy delivers a fairly solid series that may remind viewers of recent body horror films, though it explores transformation from a different angle. The performances are strong overall, and it is nice to see Ashton Kutcher return to the screen after a long absence, even if his role is not particularly remarkable. Isabella Rossellini, as always, is a delight to watch, though it is unfortunate that she does not receive more screen time. However, some characters lose their narrative weight midway through the show despite strong beginnings, and a few simply disappear from the story altogether. The finale is also disappointing, offering no satisfying resolution and ending instead on a frustrating cliffhanger. While the concept is compelling and the series has many engaging moments, its uneven character development and unresolved ending leave much to be desired. See more Read all reviews
