The show is currently 2 shows of 6 in, the tension between Danes and Hiddleston is was immediate, the conflict of religion and his beliefs against her scientific shows through without question. The relationship is strained because of it at times but shows the building of the two sides of this story of friendship, attraction and belief. Hiddleston plays his part to the extent that there is resentment that she comes to the village and disturbs his equilibrium although the love for his wife is as strong as ever, can a man love more than one woman. The mystery and atmosphere of the locations have only increased the intensity of the filming and the parts to be played by all, the location, the people the objects. All in all a good show so far and cannot wait to see the rest.

Tom Hiddleston is making me swoon. Claire Daines is perfect in her role. They have this spark and I can't wait to see more.

I'm a huge Tom Hiddleston fan, and as always he does not disappoint. Everyone in this does a great job, I absolutely love Claire's character Cora, she makes me want to be more carefree, and to just enjoy life the way I want it. Can't wait for more! Thank you!

What is happening to AppleTV+ recently? So many excellent series that seems more appropriate to be at high budget big screens. Amazing series, amazing acting, amazing production! This one is high on another awards nominations.

Absolutely love this series everything from a eerie gothic scenery, to the amazing acting clare danes is super as cora and Tom hiddleston is just outstanding as will ransom ,andrew scott is no longer the hottest victor in town ,hes lost his mantle to tom hiddleston for sure cause damn hes hot in this. Tom hiddleston is the only reason you need to watch this show ,fans will not be disappointed, but all the other elements make this show just brilliant.

A tv series struggling with the fact that anyone aside from the heroine is insufficiently characterized: What exactly is the vicar's position in this village? why did this knowledge seeking man end up in this place? Much more strory telling would have been needed — poor Hiddleston, having to play Will in nowhere circumstances. But so far an enjoyable story of "a woman finding her way" in the Victorian age. Strong performances by Danes, Hiddleston, Dillane.

Slow and boring… Lost interest very quickly. If the rest if the season is as awful and the first two episodes I have no idea how to get through the remaining one. Dullane is good, Danes is great, Squires is annoying, and Hiddleston's acting is about as interesting as a dish towel. Where is this training at RADA that he got so many years ago? Will he ever use it?

Danes and Hiddleston have excellent chemistry, and love seeing my favorite moments from the book come alive on screen.

I found the book by Perry just dull; no reason to expect much inisights into human nature coming from this tv-series either. But the tv series is beautifully shot, has in the first episode even some horror movie feeling, plus the air of a longing for love (which after 2 episodes promises to meander as much as the book does), all of which is intriguing. So why not give it a chance? — may be only because Danes and Hiddleston are superb (the latter getting more mixed reviews because he is not humble and unattractive enough … but if so, why would the Danes character would fall for him?) 4* to compensate for "book lovers's" complaints ( these G. reviews are really something).
