The show bounces back after a little fall in season 4. The show is starting to arc away from the family dynamic and that's to be expected in a world with teenagers. Time will tell if this can continue. 03/09/2019

Some of the characters go through major life changes, but for the most part it's still the same lovable, quirky, and very loud family who get a boost from better writing this season.

Increasingly formulaic, a tired-out cast and stale jokes - its time for the Goldbergs to end! The series had an excellent run, specifically its first three seasons, where the show peaked. However, it no longer looks like anyone had that much fun writing these anymore. Sitcoms are inevitably formulaic, however, this takes it to a new level, with repeated dialogue and similar plot lines. The 80s nostalgia can only carry this for so long. Thankfully, the cast, specifically Troy Gentiles Barry, manage to inject some life into this, making the season watchable. However, it would be better if the show ended with now, having achieved a great run, with only one disappointing season.

Funny, warm and most definitely nostalgic. For those who lived it relive your memories and for those who were not around, trust that this is really, sorta how it was! I never fail to laugh and get a lump in my throat every time I watch. The Goldbergs have the mix just right. Keep on running Barry!
