06/05/2020 The first season of this show had a lot of tributes to original show. No, young Oliver did't end up on a billboard, but he did end up flying in a lawn chair with a bunch of weather balloons attached to it. This season was a "reintroduction" to the characters in the original series as well as getting to know the new part of the cast. '80's family tv at it's finest. I could never get enough! See more 05/26/2020 Very charming and fun revival series of 26 commercial-free episodes on The Disney Channel from 1984-85 under the name Still the Beaver with Eddie Haskell (Ken Osmond) and his mini-me son Freddie (real-life son Eric Osmond) as the highlights. Also fun seeing all the original actors back playing June, Beaver, Wally, and Lumpy, as well as guest appearances by the actors who played Richard, Tooey, Julie Foster, Violet Rutherford, and Miss Canfield. Hugh Beaumont's real-life sister guest stars as Ward's sister in the 2nd episode (Thanksgiving Day). Wally and his high school sweetheart Mary Ellen (good new actress Janice Kent) are married and now have a young girl Kelly (Kaleena Kiff) the same age as Beaver's youngest son Oliver (at the end of the 1983 TV reunion movie Still the Beaver, Wally and Mary Ellen had a baby boy called Ward, but that is not the case yet in the series), and they are living next door to recently-divorced Beaver, who is living in the old family home at 211 Pine Street with his recently-widowed mother June (Ward funeral scene in the 1983 CBS TV reunion movie Still the Beaver), who is helping raise Oliver (John Snee) and Beaver's oldest son Kip (Kipp Marcus -- changed from Corey Feldman in TV movie). Kip and Freddie Haskell are best friends. During the season Fred Rutherford disappears (it was a different actor since Richard Deacon died just before the series started production) as Beaver and Lumpy start their own business as partners. Wally is a lawyer and Eddie is a shyster construction contractor. Notable guest stars include Ray Walston (The Piano Lesson - ep 7); Nicole Eggert (Dear Pen Pal, ep 10); Giovanni Ribisi (Slumber Party, ep 13; first of 16 appearances as Oliver's best friend Duffy); Shannon Doherty and Christina Applegate (Steppin' Out, ep 14); and Jack Black (Movin On, ep 21).
