This Is Us premieres with unexpected, deeply touching storylines that flow effortlessly.
This Is Us remains a particularly infuriating title for what seems like a secretively simple series.
The captivating new NBC drama draws viewers in with multiple story lines that ultimately connect by the end, and after watching the premiere on Tuesday, September 20, it's safe to say we want more!
What distinguishes This Is Us from all the rest is its unique and unexpected ending, making the highly anticipated series premiere one of the best I have ever seen.
Let's just say that it's unexpected and deeply touching - and also that it sets the show on a route that surprised me, but I am altogether quite pleased about.
This Is Us opted for an natural flow, as opposed to relying too heavily on its tear-jerking, shock-factor moments.
All in all, it was a good pilot that did enough to bring us back for a second week, even before the surprise ending.
I'm happy to report This Is Us lives up to the hype. Sure, I have some questions now that we're all hip to The Twist that connects its characters, but I trust the show will be fine.
Dan Fogelman is here to make you cry.
Can a pilot be too good? It seems unlikely, but that just might be the case for fans of This Is Us.
... don't be turned off by the idea of some "spiritually linked strangers" gimmick. It's simply a show about families - the ones we're born into and the ones we create, and the work that goes into keeping those relationships afloat.
