What to Know

Critics Consensus

What Trauma lacks in originality it more than makes up for in gripping performances from well-matched leads Adrian Lester and John Simm.

It is a tremendous performance from Simm, who manages to make Bowker's self-loathing seep out of his pores. Go to Full Review

Child murder aside, I'm keen to see where Bartlett takes this next. Go to Full Review

While not quite as well-observed as Collateral, ITV's Trauma is by no means a bad series. Go to Full Review

As with Doctor Foster, Trauma was just about saved by a blistering pace and an A-list cast. Go to Full Review

Alain E @AlainE Feb 13 The medical aspect of this is a little questionable. If the hospital where the surgery was performed was a major teaching hospital in London they should be able to place the patient on total support (bypass or ECMO) and then fix his heart trauma. You don’t give up as easily on a 15 year old. The rest is more believable, although it appears that more emphasis is placed on the surgeon as opposed to the person who wielded the knife. See more Mrs C @MrsKazzolis Dec 7 I won't EVER recommend this and I walked away from this tri-series!! BS story about a man who stalks a man trying to save his son when the real murderer got away scott free and gets away with it. My opinion, i wouldn't see this or any recommended versions of it. See more Theo S. Héro + @RT09212872 03/24/2025 The acting is good, I really hated the story tho. It was REALLY dumb at times. Glad this ended with only 3 episodes. a son is stabbed but the grieving dad goes after the doctor. There was no mention of the 'the stabber' until 18 minutes into the 2nd episode. Final ep... The dad shows up at the doctors home with a knife to his daughters neck but Noone goes to jail. The ending is dumb like the first episode. See more Cary G @RT91431158 09/15/2023 Trauma is an excellent example of a show that offers top-notch acting & production design, but a wholly unbelievable script. It was implausible from start to finish. I am not sure how it scored 100%. Do not waste your time. See more Rita E @RT81238145 01/18/2023 This was a nail-biter. The two lead actors were convincingly portrayed. My only beef was that who the killer(s) were would have been uppermost on the parents' minds. Or so you'd think. See more Tom S @Acewrite13 10/04/2022 Ridiculous melodrama, awkwardly drawn-out and badly written. See more Read all reviews
