A satire about struggling actors and the ludicrous Hollywood inequality they’re trying to get around doesn’t sound like a particularly original idea, but when you plug it into the dour world of Marvel superheroes it’s actually a welcome change of pace.

This is more about an insecure loner with a chip on his shoulder discovering the benefits of opening up and being vulnerable. It’s about finding a friend and remembering what it means to trust someone implicitly no matter the consequences.

Since acquiring Fox/introducing mutants into the MCU, I like that Marvel is exploring what it means for a superhuman to live a normal life. Strong performances from Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Ben Kingsley, but otherwise nothing special.

Devastating and hilarious. I thought I was done with Marvel but taking the superhero story from the perspective of a struggling actor is so fresh and interesting. Brilliant performances.

THIS IS HOW TO DO A SUPER HERO SERIES! Even though it has very little in terms of heroic powers, the story manages to take you on an amazing journey through the life of a gifted individual growing up in a world post Iron Man 3 and Shang-Chi, as Ben Kingsley proves once again that he is an absolute GOAT and can turn his gift to make you care about where this show goes. ABSOLUTEY WATCH THIS NOW!
