Jun 03, 2020I was hoping to find a success story of moms who can have a professional life while raising children with a mix of hot mess comedy. What I got was a Netflix series normalizing selfishness and applauding poor choices. As a surviving daughter of a selfish mother who consistently made poor choices, I must issue a trigger warning and warn others of a harmful narrative that seems to be pushed here.

May 03, 2020I don't know what it is about this show but first the first look, I was hooked. It gives a interesting look at motherhood in Canada and most importantly, it's funny and features some real situations. I'm glad it's been renewed and returning.

Nov 06, 2019Characters are gross, nasty and skanky. Why anyone would want to want to watch these people is beyond me. Hope the rest of the world doesn't think Canadians are actually like this. What a shame for female creator, Reitman

Oct 30, 2019I thought this was a funny show at first, but the more I watch it the more disturbed I get. A married and financially stable women aborted her child? and then everyone acts okay with it? These women think its okay to ignore and treat their husbands with zero respect. Why is it okay that when Kate and Nathan split up that she refused to let him see or hold their child for several months? I finally decided to stop watching the show because of how they portrayed religion in this episode. "be careful, don't love Jesus too much" ...are you kidding me? And then Frankie rolls her eyes at Bianca when she tries to defend her faith. I cannot watch a show that so blatantly ridicules my religion.

Sep 12, 2019This show started out in Season 1 to be great-funny and relatable. It reminded me of what it was like to be a working mom for sure. But the show has lost its way. The women on the show have become everything that women complain about in men. These women do not listen to their partners or spouses, they are crass, they are selfish and they let their own issues get in the way of being a decent parent. If a woman had an affair because her husband was never around and he put her last on his list of priorities, we would all understand and sympathize, but Nathan has an affair and nobody can understand it? Kate could not have been a worse wife to him. Now Kate is screwing her assistant, a 20 yr old kid, but if that were a man screwing his 20 year old assistant, society would be screaming about the MeToo movement. I thought we as women were better than this. Don't get me wrong-the breast pumping situations, the screaming child banging on the shower door, the terrible guilt about working when you think you need to be home or about being home and missing work-all of that was totally relatable and therefore funny, but the writers have turned these women (especially Kate) into characters that we can't even respect. She lies like a rug about everything. She uses the husband (who cheated on her) for sex because she is hot for another guy. If they were happily married, or even together in the same house, that might be ok, (everyone fantasizes) but they aren't. You lost me further on her fooling around with a 20 year old in his parent's house. That's teenage stuff. The fun of the show was supposed to be about balancing work and motherhood. It started that way but now its just Kate dumping her kids at her mom's so she can go out and do whatever the hell she wants. She barely spends any time with them. Working moms are about getting dressed for work only to have your kids puke on you just as you are about to leave. All you have done in Season 3 is make the women just about as sexist, inappropriate, thinking with their libido instead of their heads and superficial as society is saying many men are. It's gross and women are better than that. Alternatively, you have men in this show that basically put up with so much bull from these women and stay the course and keep things grounded everyday. I have more respect for Lionel and Ian than any of the women. I have never written a review before but this turn in the show really pissed me off and Catherine Reitman can certainly do better.
