Partially inspired by co-creator Mike Judge's experiences as a Silicon Valley engineer in the 1980s, this comedy series follows the misadventures of introverted computer programmer Richard and his brainy friends as they attempt to strike it rich in a high-tech gold rush. They live together in a Bay Area startup incubator loosely run by self-satisfied dot-com millionaire Erlich, who lets them stay in his house rent-free in exchange for a stake in the projects they invent there. But when Richard develops a powerful search algorithm at his day job, he finds himself caught in the middle of a bidding war between his boss -- whose firm offers Richard an eight-figure buyout -- and a deep-pocketed venture capitalist.

The energy, excitement, and ultimately the incredible humor the show has makes it a positively kinetic viewing experience. Go to Full Review

In its relentless realism, it often offered brilliant and biting commentary...just as often, the show veered toward the flat and the unfunny, and Erlich and Richard, the two guys with the most screen time, seemed calculated to annoy viewers.

The surprise of the show's second season, which has been stronger than its first, has increasingly been that in addition to being reliably funny, it somehow feels familiar as a workplace show, despite being so much a creature of its bro-intensive world. Go to Full Review

Silicon Valley does not run away from clichs, such as the inability to social relations or the difficulty of holding the gaze when the interlocutor of one of his male characters is a woman. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

gerrixx o 09/02/2022 Again, another great season, so many great actors, not a negative in the bunch... standout performance by Chris Diamantopoulos. See more tom m 10/21/2021 A bit of comic relief. Entertaining enough. T.J. Miller's character is a bit hard to take in anything other than the tiniest doses. See more 10/20/2019 Didnt think second season would hold up. I was wrong See more 10/16/2018 Silicon Valley manages to carry on with the same excellent momentum that made season 1 so great despite the loss of Christopher Evan Welch. See more 08/06/2017 Because no one ever died from second hand heroin See more 06/19/2017 Silicon Valley [Season 2], tells the story when the Pied Piper team find out about Peter Gregory's death, they start to doubt the viability of Raviga as an investor and start to pitch their business to other venture capitalists. However, Laurie Bream, Raviga's new manager, and Monica, Peter's former assistant, keep the company's promise and make a really good offer that Hendricks accepts. Bad news quickly follow: Hooli's Belson decides to sue Pied Piper for intellectual property theft, causing Raviga to drop the recently acquired team and the other venture capitalists to lose interest in them. When all hope seems lost, eccentric billionaire Russ Hanneman makes his entrance and offers to fund Hendrick's operations. The second season of the comedy series focuses on lawsuits, competition, business decisions and corporate espionage. Overall, the second season of Silicon Valley is even better than season one. It's an ambitious show that you cannot dislike. Silicon Valley feels fresh every episode you watch. The show rallies up its comedy from the first season, and adds on even better than the first season of Silicon Valley. Too, it's even better to see that the ensemble is even better in season two than season one, due to the characters opening up, and transitioning even more. See more Read all reviews
