Lloyd Banks
Rapper Lloyd Banks was born in Baltimore and raised in the South Jamaican section of Queens, New York. His career started with the hip-hop group G-Unit, alongside childhood friends 50 Cent and Tony Yayo. Soon, Banks became renowned on the mixtape scene and G-Unit went on to release their debut album, "Beg for Mercy" (2003), after establishing their own record label, G-Unit Records. Banks' first solo release was "The Hunger for More" (2004), after earning an award for Mixtape artist of the year at the Mixtape Awards. The album was a commercial success and peaked at number 1 on the Billboard charts, being certified platinum. The tracks for his second solo album ended up being leaked online, so Banks changed course and went on to release a different project, called "Rotten Apple" (2006) instead. His third album "H.F.M. 2" (2011) came a few years later. Banks' fourth album, "The Course of the Inevitable" (2021) came out after the rapper left G-Unit Records, to very positive reviews.
