Brandon Marshall cut a distinct path as an NFL wide receiver. Born in Pittsburgh on March 23, 1984, he was a three-time letter-winner playing basketball and running track at Lake Howell High School, in addition to competing on the football team. He attended the University of Central Florida and played wide receiver for the UCF Knights. He was named MVP for his team in the 2005 Hawaii Bowl. The Denver Broncos drafted him into the NFL in 2006 and he soon became one of the team's offensive weapons, going three consecutive seasons with 100 or more receptions from 2008 to 2010. He played in his first Pro Bowl in 2009. He was traded to the Miami Dolphins in 2010. He was named MVP in his third Pro Bowl, played in 2012. Shortly after, the Dolphins traded him to the Chicago Bears. In 2014, he suffered an injury when he was kneed in the back during a game, breaking two of his ribs and collapsing a lung. He was forced to sit out the rest of the season to recover. The Bears traded him to the New York Jets prior to the 2015 season. He was released in 2017 after amassing six Pro Bowl appearances and a career total of more than 10,000 receiving yards. He signed with the New York Giants a few weeks later. Off the field, Marshall contributed to "Inside the NFL" (Showtime, 1977- ) as an analyst beginning in 2014.
