Chuck Hayward was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Hayward's career in acting began with his roles in various films like "Fair Wind to Java" (1953) with Fred MacMurray, "The Searchers" (1956) with John Wayne and "Forty Guns" (1957) with Barbara Stanwyck. He also appeared in the western "Run of the Arrow" (1957) with Rod Steiger, the Gregory Peck adaptation "The Big Country" (1958) and the western "Escort West" (1959) with Victor Mature. He continued to work steadily in film throughout the sixties, appearing in the James Stewart adaptation "Two Rode Together" (1961), the Bill F Calvert action film "Taras Bulba" (1962) and the Jeff Chandler action picture "Merrill's Marauders" (1962). Toward the end of his career, he continued to act in the Burt Reynolds crime flick "Hustle" (1975), "Airport 77" (1977) and the Michael Caine horror feature "The Swarm" (1978). Hayward more recently acted in "The Legend of the Lone Ranger" (1981).
