She later become the director of the Fletcher Foundation, a non-profit group supporting civil rights and environmental education created by his eldest brother, Alphonse, Jr. After graduating from the private college prep school, Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, he attended Harvard University, where he earned his bachelor's in psychology. An aspiring filmmaker since he was 14 years old when he first began playing around with a movie camera, Fletcher earned his master's degree in film from New York University's acclaimed Tisch School of the Arts.
