Early in Werris's screenwriting career, Werris penned scripts for "Four Jills in a Jeep" (1944) and "If I'm Lucky" (1946). Werris then acted in "The Good Life" (1970-71), "Kolchak: The Night Stalker" (ABC, 1974-75) and "Peeper" (1976) with Michael Caine. Werris also appeared in "A Guide For the Married Woman" (ABC, 1978-79) and "Rescue From Gilligan's Island" (NBC, 1978). Later in Werris's career, Werris acted in "Slapstick of Another Kind" (1984) with Jerry Lewis.
