Liam is a reporter for ComicBook.com. Movies TV Shows
The Iron Claw (2023) 89% 5/5 EDIT “In a media age dominated by quick hits and short-term trending topics, The Iron Claw is one of those rare movies that has a tangible feeling of long-term legs that will stretch far beyond its theatrical run.” – ComicBook.com Dec 12, 2023 Full Review Napoleon (2023) 58% 3.5/5 EDIT “While it is far from a perfect picture, Napoleon is an epic worthy of the big screen experience. The valleys stretch far and wide, but the peaks are enough to negate enough of the pacing. Vanessa Kirby's performance alone makes Napoleon priority viewing.” – ComicBook.com Nov 15, 2023 Full Review Dumb Money (2023) 84% 4.5/5 EDIT “A sure-fire disruptor in the imminent awards season, Dumb Money possesses all the punk-rock energy that the real life story had.” – ComicBook.com Sep 14, 2023 Full Review Vacation Friends 2 (2023) 24% 2.5/5 EDIT “ A step down from the predecessor, yes, but Vacation Friends 2 will leave audiences wanting more from this blossoming comedy franchise.” – ComicBook.com Aug 25, 2023 Full Review Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023) 51% 4/5 EDIT “Rise of the Beasts delivers on all accounts. The action is pulse-pounding. The summer movie season has been in full throttle for just over a month, and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts sends that popcorn blockbuster momentum into full gear.” – ComicBook.com Jun 6, 2023 Full Review Renfield (2023) 58% 4/5 EDIT “While it is no groundbreaking Dracula story, Renfield is a genuinely hilarious twist on the all-too-familiar vampire narrative. The R-rated comedy genre and Universal's monster sandbox have been begging for a new classic. This delivers across the board.” – ComicBook.com Apr 6, 2023 Full Review Missing (2023) 89% 4/5 EDIT “This film is a grand slam for younger audiences. Silky smooth editing and clever integration of all-too-familiar technology techniques mixed with jaw-dropping suspense makes Missing an immersive experience unlike anything currently on the block.” – ComicBook.com Jan 13, 2023 Full Review A Man Called Otto (2022) 70% 4.5/5 EDIT “The best films are the ones that make audiences think without explicitly telling them to do so. A Man Called Otto puts a magnifying glass on one man's quaint life experience and shows the good that can and will happen when people love thy neighbor.” – ComicBook.com Jan 9, 2023 Full Review Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) 76% 5/5 EDIT “Words don't do Avatar: The Way of Water justice. While this film has all the makings of a once-in-a-lifetime theatrical experience, audiences should relish in the fact that there is much more to come.” – ComicBook.com Dec 13, 2022 Full Review The Menu (2022) 88% 4.5/5 EDIT “The Menu is a win. Fiennes, Hoult, and Taylor-Joy elevate every scene that they are in, and take the ones they share to incredible heights. Mylod crafts a knife-cuttingly suspenseful tale that is ultimately worth the theatrical experience. ” – ComicBook.com Nov 17, 2022 Full Review Devotion (2022) 81% 4/5 EDIT “Devotion's third act does justice to Jesse Brown and Tom Hudner's story. The cinematography alone warrants the big screen experience, but the film's leading performances are an appreciated icing on the cake.” – ComicBook.com Nov 14, 2022 Full Review Amsterdam (2022) 31% 2.5/5 EDIT “Aside from a good day at the office for Bale, there's not much to love from Amsterdam. It's ultimately a waste of one of the most impressive ensembles in recent memory, and markets itself as far more interesting than it actually is.” – ComicBook.com Oct 4, 2022 Full Review
