The action is what saves Extraction from being totally written off considering its story and characters are so generic - the screenplay from Joe Russo (Avengers: Endgame) does it no favours.

The humour sprinkled in pairs surprisingly well with the action and I think letting Chris' character be Aussie adds a nice touch as well, especially with lines like telling people to 'piss off' as he hits them.

Extraction gives me the vibes of John wick intensity and Just Cause video game franchise settings, location, characters, themes, and Hemsworth excels. The performance that Hemsworth puts on reveals more levels than what we’ve seen when he portrays the God of Thunder. We see a more intense, emotional side that is very refreshing. There is a good mix of real life war experience, and Hollywood action and I think that’s what I really appreciate about it even more.
