See more 04/20/2016 Rosalie is delightfully creepy in this otherwise bad movie. A young lady is hired to nanny Rosalie, so she comes out to their country home. Things quickly go wrong when people start dying in brutal fashion. Rosalie keeps talking about her friends from the graveyard... The Child borrows too much from other movies, but gives nothing back. There are zombies and Rosalie has powers like a watered down Carrie. Nothing really comes together though. See more 11/01/2012 I don't like films about killer children all that much. Let me just say that right off the bat. The Child (AKA Zombie Child, AKA Kill and Go Hide) isn't even really good at following a story about what its title implies. This actually is more of an exercise in boredom, because the movie is pretty sparse of anything entertaining. The only thing positive I can really say about it is that the score is fun in spots, and the zombie make-up is pretty well executed. Other than that, there's nothing. Awful performances, terrible photography, an uninteresting story and just a lack of anything worth enjoying. I picked this up used on DVD through Something Weird video, and while a lot of their stuff I have more of likeness towards, this isn't among them. You can probably skip this altogether and not miss much. Hell, I barely have anything to say about it. See more 02/17/2011 a awful 70s horror, which gets more silly as it goes on, the dubbing is awful, eben though it looks american, and production worse, and from what i can make out of the performances, really bad, and the demons, men dressed up who attack later on, laughable. See more 01/17/2011 The Child (1977) -- [3.5] -- A young housekeeper learns that her boss's daughter is instructing zombies from a nearby graveyard to kill at her command. There are some neat moments and ideas in this mess of a movie, scenes where the housekeeper dreams she is dancing with a scarecrow, and the climactic zombie siege for example. But the film falls victim to a horde of B-movie ailments, including wooden acting, atrocious dialogue, hack and slash editing, dark indiscernable cinematography, and one heck of a bad dub job. See more 06/04/2010 11 year old Rosalie uses her telekinetic powers to bring the dead back to life, feeds them a couple of kittens & they extract revenge for her against those she finds responsible for the death of her mother & then some. The undead snack on their victims faces & chews an eye right out of its socket. The Child is a little heard of movie & should be sought out by zombie completists. A little gory @ times but mostly spends its time creating an eerie atmosphere. The score is just insane crazy sounding like it was orcastrated by mad chimps on meth. I had a hard time w/ this keeping my interest for the most part w/ some terrible continuity being day time & suddenly being night & then day again. The last 20 minutes aren't bad but you've seen it all before as those in danger barricade themselves in to keep the undead out. I can't really recommend it though unless you're one of those people who must see every zombie movie..in that case you could do much worse See more Read all reviews
